Top 3 Fall Trends in Kitchen Design

Fall is hands down my favorite time of year. There's so much to look forward to... the warmth of the beautiful earthy fall color change, the coziness of gathering around a fire with a nice blanket and warm drink, and the upcoming holiday gatherings with friends and family. This fall, I'm seeing kitchen design trends following suit with the change of seasons. Let's take a look at the top 3 fall trends in Kitchen Design for 2021:

1. Warming Spaces Up with Dark, Earthy Tones

Clients are making a switch from the classic white kitchens to a warmer, more inviting design approach with darker color palettes, organic countertop materials, and beautifully stained wood cabinetry.

2. Getting Creative with Different Textures

I'm seeing a greater variety of textures becoming popular with clients today. Warm gold hardware, wire mesh inserts, leather cabinetry doors, and honed countertops are examples of design elements that we see people gravitating to which you don't often see in a typical white shaker kitchen. These varied textures really bring a design to life, all while staying true to a complimentary natural color palette.

3. Incorporating Large Islands for Gathering Spaces

Lastly, without a doubt a top request from our clients is a large island space for gathering.  Homeowners are open to removing walls in the home to create an open, more inviting space, allowing for the addition of an island that accommodates plenty of seating.

Over the last two years, the kitchen has become the heart of the home more than ever. We are all craving cozier, more ‘lived-in’ spaces to gather together in. As we welcome the change of seasons, I love seeing the coziness of fall become incorporated into today's kitchen spaces!
