Small Kitchen goes Big on Style and Storage

This kitchen remodel was all about maximizing the space and creating a dream space for our clients—a perfect blend of function, style, and personality. Their wish list? More storage, an inviting dining area, and the addition of a stylish island. The result? A mix of materials and textures that brought warmth and dimension, like the stunning wood bump-out on the fridge wall, the beautifully crafted wood island, and the matching hood that adds just the right touch of charm without overwhelming the space.

The original kitchen provided several opportunities to improve function and style.  The space lacked an island despite having ample the space for one.  A seldom-used entrance door on the side of the home limited storage space on the exterior wall, and the traditional raised panel cabinetry and flooring didn't match adjacent spaces.

Going All-In on the Remodel

Every remodel comes with its quirks, and this one was no exception! After countless brainstorming sessions and design drafts, we decided to proceed with a larger remodel, which included modifying the exterior wall and replacing the flooring with stained oak to match the rest of the first floor. Of course, construction brought its own set of surprises (hello, structural challenges!), but nothing our install team couldn't handle.

The Showstoppers

Tiered Island with Maximum Style and Flexibility

The island wasn’t just for show—it’s a multitasking marvel! To keep it functional and stylish, we incorporated a stepped-down seating area with a gorgeous wood waterfall top. It’s perfect for prepping meals, casual dining, or simply hanging out.

Hidden Bar with a Twist

A hidden bar? Yes, please! Our clients wanted a cozy spot to sip their morning coffee while catching the news, so we included a hidden TV behind sleek pocket doors. Need some peace? Just slide the doors shut and voila—clean and serene.

Our Favorite Moments

This project had so many highlights, but the biggest thrill was the overall transformation. By removing an unused exterior door and expanding the kitchen window, we opened up the space and created a light-filled, cohesive area for family and friends to gather. Saying goodbye to soffits was another win, and the new ceiling detail, complete with cove molding and ambient lighting, added a touch of magic.

From concept to completion, this kitchen became everything the clients dreamed of and more—a space that’s functional, inviting, and absolutely stunning.
