The National Association of Home Builders has announced the winners of the Best in American Living Awards, and KSI Designers received national recognition for three projects in kitchen and bath categories! Winners were announced at the award ceremony held during the 2024 International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Entertaining with Drama in the Kitchen
Senior Designer Kelsey Powell earned not one but two awards for her beautiful kitchen designs. Her Entertainer’s Kitchen won the Gold award in the Kitchen in a Custom Home $1,000,001 - $2,000,000 category. Hear Kelsey talk about the design process for this project in our Celebrate Home video below:
Timeless and Classic Beauty
Kelsey also won the Gold award in the Kitchen in a Custom Home under $1,000,000 category for her collaboration with Shannon Lawrason of Elle Madde Interiors on a timeless kitchen with European charm. “I had a great time collaborating with Shannon on this project. As a longtime member of the HBA of Southeastern MI and the Professional Women in Building Council, it’s truly incredible to earn national recognition from the NAHB!” Learn more about this kitchen on the KSI blog!
Cigar Lounge-Inspired Master Bath
Designer Christina Fukumoto won the Silver award in the Bath under $50,000 category for her Cigar-Lounge Inspired Master Bath project. “Working with this couple on two bathrooms was an absolute pleasure. Both rooms were not without their challenges, but the end result was worth it. To be honored at a National Level was just icing on the cake!” This bath was part of a his- and hers- dual bath remodel that’s gone on to win several awards – learn more about this project on the KSI blog!

Kelsey Powell is a Senior Designer at KSI's Birmingham Design Center. Kelsey earned her CKBD from the NKBA and was recognized as a member of their Thirty Under 30 Class of 2023. Most recently, she was honored as a member of the Pro Remodeler Forty Under 40 Class of 2024.
Christina Fukumoto is a Designer at KSI's Birmingham Design Center. Her accolades include national recognition from Kitchen & Bath Design News Magazine and Qualified Remodeler Magazine. Christina is active in the industry as a board member of the Detroit chapter of the Interior Design Society.
